AV & TV installation in Etobicoke

Every other page on this site quotes a travel fee by distance from Etobicoke, our base. Zone A (0 to 50 km, covering Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Brampton, Richmond Hill and Oakville) is already free, and zones further out run from $59 up to $299. This page is different because Etobicoke is not a zone we drive to at all, it is where the day starts, so the travel line on the quote is just not there.

We work across every part of the district: Mimico, New Toronto and Long Branch along the lake, Alderwood and Rexdale further inland, the condo towers of Humber Bay Shores and Islington-City Centre West, the older streets of The Kingsway, Sunnylea and Stonegate-Queensway, and Markland Wood, Princess-Rosethorn, Eatonville, Centennial Park, Richview, Willowridge and Thorncrest Village in between. If it is inside Etobicoke, it is inside the free zone.

Concrete condo towers in Humber Bay Shores and Islington-City Centre West are poured concrete or concrete block behind the drywall skin, so a standard drywall anchor does nothing. We drill for masonry anchors instead, and because there is no wall cavity to hide a cable run in, wiring goes into a low-profile surface raceway rather than pretending a stud bay exists where it does not. Shared walls and building rules apply, and drilling into the exterior facade or a balcony structure is off the table without the board's sign-off, which is why we work inside the unit, not through it.

Pre-war and post-war houses in The Kingsway, Sunnylea and Mimico were mostly built with plaster over wood lath, not drywall, and it behaves differently under a drill. Many also have a brick chimney and fireplace as the natural TV wall, and since these houses predate mounting a television over the mantel, there is sometimes no outlet back there. Any new mains wiring or outlet needs a Licensed Electrical Contractor, separate from our low-voltage cable work.

Post-war bungalows in Alderwood, Long Branch and Rexdale are typically sided in aluminum or vinyl over narrower wall cavities than a newer build. Getting Ethernet or a mesh node up to a second floor means finding the cleanest existing path through those cavities instead of opening a wall on every run.

TV mounting and concealed wiring is the most common call in a district this dense, on any wall from a Humber Bay Shores concrete column to a Kingsway brick chimney. From there it is usually home theatre (5.1 surround or a projector and screen, calibrated properly) or smart home and cameras (lighting, locks, doorbells and recorded video on one system), then mesh Wi-Fi and Ethernet to get a signal past a concrete column or a second-floor bungalow bedroom, and finally removing an old satellite dish that has not pointed at anything useful in years.

Starlink comes up less here than in our rural service pages, honestly. Most of Etobicoke already has fibre or cable, so a satellite dish is rarely the upgrade it is out past the city, and we will say so on the phone before selling you one.
