Audio paths, controls and room behaviour

Start with how the room will be used. Presentation playback, local microphone reinforcement and conferencing each need an appropriate routing plan. The design accounts for the actual microphones, speakers, amplifiers and connection points.

Tesira DSP design

Develop microphone and playback paths, mixing, levels, mute groups, routing, presets and output processing. Review device models and available processing resources before defining the design. New files and modifications to an existing system are scoped against the equipment and intended operating modes.

AEC and conferencing

Plan acoustic echo cancellation references, far-end returns and the local loudspeaker mix. Check USB or other conferencing connections supported by the installed hardware. Commissioning includes a real call with an on-site listener and a far-end participant, so mute behaviour, echo symptoms and simultaneous speech can be assessed.

TTP and room controls

Integrate Tesira levels, mutes, presets and available feedback with the room control system through Tesira Text Protocol. Agree the required attributes and user controls, then test commands and feedback together. Control-pad or Canvas configuration can be included where the selected equipment and project require it.

Networked audio coordination

Review the audio transport supported by each endpoint, such as AVB or Dante, against the design and switch infrastructure. Coordinate addressing, device discovery, clocking and routing with the responsible IT or network team. The hardware model and network capabilities determine the available connections.

Existing systems

Understand the room before changing the file

For an inherited Tesira system, send the equipment inventory, available design file, software version and a clear description of the problem. Include the control processor and any third-party interfaces. A symptom such as missing far-end audio may involve DSP routing, device selection, the conferencing application or a physical connection.

We review the available configuration and source material before estimating changes. Remote access and file availability are confirmed with the owner or integrator. Any required reconstruction, firmware work or replacement hardware is identified separately so its cost and effect on room availability can be discussed.

The same review is useful when adding microphones, changing the room layout or replacing a conferencing endpoint. Existing presets and control interfaces may need updates alongside the audio design. The scope defines which user workflows must continue to work after the change.

Project delivery

Prepare, program, test and hand over

  1. Send the system information

    Include Tesira models, peripherals, microphones, amplifiers, speakers, available drawings and design files. Describe room modes, conferencing needs, site location, timezone and target test date.

  2. Define the work package

    Agree DSP changes, control integration, documentation, review rounds and acceptance checks. Pricing can be fixed or time and materials as set out in the written proposal. Local attendance and later project phases are scoped separately.

  3. Coordinate the test window

    Arrange approved access with customer IT and a technician at the site. Confirm backups and the recovery approach before changing an operating system. The local team checks wiring, microphone pickup, loudspeaker output and physical device operation.

  4. Record the result

    Provide the agreed Tesira design file, control references, configuration notes and test results. Identify unresolved physical or acoustic issues and the next check needed. Deliverables and any third-party restrictions are defined in the proposal.

Remote and on-site

Based in Toronto, available beyond Ontario

Remote Biamp programming and support are available across Canada and worldwide by agreement. Development can happen before a commissioning session, while live testing needs compatible equipment, authorized connectivity and people available at the room. On-site work in the GTA and Ontario is quoted separately.

Software review cannot confirm the acoustic result on its own. Microphone placement, room noise, speaker coverage and amplifier settings require site information and appropriate physical checks.
