Remote AV Support

Scheduled troubleshooting for AV integrators, contractors and institutional IT teams. Get help isolating room faults, reviewing DSP and control logic, and planning source-code fixes around the equipment and access you actually have.

Written scope and project-specific estimate. On-site GTA and Ontario by agreement.

Project context

Start with the symptom and a testable scope

A meeting room can fail at several points between the microphone, DSP, conferencing computer and far-end participant. A display problem may involve the source, routing, receiver, control logic or physical connection. Wirewolf helps your team trace that path and separate confirmed observations from working hypotheses.

Support is scheduled for an agreed session or project window. We work with the integrator responsible for the installation or with the organization's authorized technical contact. The first step is to define the affected room functions, available evidence and a practical outcome for the engagement.

Technical scope

Troubleshooting across the room system

Conferencing audio and video

Review microphone and loudspeaker paths, mute behaviour, echo symptoms, USB device selection and camera or display routing. A local participant and a separate far-end caller may be needed to reproduce the issue and judge the result during a real test call.

DSP, routing and network triage

Inspect available DSP files, channel naming, levels and routing against the room drawings. Check reported device status and network symptoms with customer IT, including relevant Dante, AES67 or AV-over-IP paths. Switch, VLAN and firewall changes require IT approval and a defined change window.

Source-code fixes

Assess control logic, device feedback, startup sequences and reproducible faults in available Crestron, Q-SYS or Biamp Tesira project files. Source availability, tool versions and third-party licences determine what can be edited. A running processor does not by itself establish that editable source is available.

Existing-system assessment

Review the equipment inventory, configuration exports and service history to identify documentation gaps. Where evidence points to cabling, power, damaged hardware or firmware compatibility, record the next physical check or vendor escalation instead of treating every symptom as a programming fault.

Working together

Controlled access, changes and verification

  1. Prepare the session

Send the equipment models, software versions, drawings, available source files and a description of when the fault occurs. Include recent changes, useful screenshots or logs, the site timezone and a technician who can attend if hands-on checks are required.

  2. Agree access and recovery

Customer IT selects and authorizes the remote-access method, permissions and session duration. Confirm who can approve changes, capture available backups and agree a rollback approach before modifying the system. Share access through the approved channel, never passwords in an enquiry email.

  3. Diagnose and change

Reproduce the symptom where possible, record the baseline and test one relevant change at a time. Physical checks remain with the local technician. Reboots, firmware work and changes that interrupt room use are discussed against the approved scope and maintenance window.

  4. Test and hand over

Retest the affected user workflows with the site team. Deliver agreed source or configuration files, a change summary, test results and unresolved items. Record software versions and recovery notes so the integrator or IT team can continue support after the session.

Before we start

Scope and handover questions

Can every AV problem be fixed remotely?
No. Remote work depends on authorized access, usable project files and compatible hardware and tools. Cable tracing, listening tests, power checks and equipment replacement may require a local technician. We identify those dependencies when scoping the work.
Is this an emergency support contract?
This service is scheduled by agreement. Response times, availability and any follow-up are defined in the written scope. It is not an advertised 24/7 service or an uptime guarantee.
Coverage and pricing

Coordinate the location, access and schedule

Remote AV support is available across Canada and worldwide, subject to an agreed timezone, access method and hardware availability. On-site attendance in the GTA and Ontario is scoped separately. Each engagement receives a written scope and project-specific estimate after the initial review.

AV engineering and commissioning: CAD 90/hour. Programming work: CAD 115/hour for senior-level tasks or CAD 95/hour for mid-level tasks. Before applicable taxes. Scope and estimated hours agreed before work. View all rates and pricing details.

Send your project scope

Describe the fault and the room functions you need to restore. Include the equipment list, available source files and drawings, location, timezone and preferred schedule. We will review the information needed to define the next step.
