Barrie itself is well served. Drive ten minutes in any direction and that stops being true. The properties we install Starlink at are in Oro-Medonte, Springwater, Essa, Adjala–Tosorontio, the concessions off Highway 11, 26 and 27, and the stretch between Innisfil and Cookstown where every provider’s coverage map claims service that nobody can actually buy.
If you are inside Barrie city limits with working cable, we will tell you plainly that Starlink is not an upgrade for you. We would rather lose the job than sell you a $449 install you did not need. What we do want are the addresses where the real options are a fixed-wireless tower you cannot see, an LTE stick with a data cap, or nothing at all.
Rural Simcoe brings its own install problems, and they are not the ones a downtown crew is ready for. Outbuildings. A house router does not reach a steel-sided shop or a barn a hundred metres out — steel and concrete stop Wi-Fi cold, and a repeater in the kitchen window does nothing. That needs a real Ethernet drop, $120 each, buried or in conduit. Wind exposure. Open farmland means the mount has to be rated for it, not just screwed to a soffit. Snow. A dish you cannot reach in February is a dish that will be offline in February, which is why we often recommend a pole mount out here instead of putting it on the roof.
Competitors quote “from $550” and will not tell you the real number until a tech is standing in your driveway. Here is ours, in advance.
