// Cottage and lake bookings — most quotes answered within the hour
Peterborough itself is not really the problem. Most of downtown runs on Bell fibre or Cogeco cable that works fine — if you are on a city street grid you probably do not need us. The gap opens the moment you cross into the townships: Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield, Douro-Dummer, Selwyn, and every cottage strung along the Trent-Severn from Chemong down through Buckhorn and up onto Stoney Lake. That is where we actually work.
The lake tree line. The Canadian Shield starts showing through around Burleigh Falls and Buckhorn — granite outcrops with mature white pine and hemlock rooted straight into the rock, sitting well above most cottage roofs on Stoney and upper Buckhorn Lake. A dish that clears the trees in July can lose signal to snow-loaded branches by January. We survey the actual sky view before we drill, and quote a gable, pole or short tower instead of installing something that will drop out every winter.
The farm country. East of Peterborough — Norwood, Havelock, Warsaw — the sky view is usually the easy part. The complication is the building: steel-roofed shops and bank barns never meant to carry a satellite dish. We carry the right fasteners and run a long cable back to the house rather than drill wherever is convenient.
The season. Most Kawartha lake cottages sit empty from Thanksgiving to May long weekend. Everything we mount on Chemong, Buckhorn, Pigeon or Sturgeon is installed to survive that unattended, and we show you how to shut the system down in the fall and bring it back up in the spring without a service call.
Every Toronto competitor quotes “from $550” and refuses to say what the real number is. Here is ours.
